Lindos Acropolis

The Acropolis of Lindos stands majestically on an 116-meter cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea, offering one of the most striking views in Rhodes. Located approximately 50 kilometers from Rhodes town, this ancient sanctuary has been dedicated to Athena Lindia for over three millennia. The complex also includes remnants of a Byzantine fortress and structures from the Knights of St. John, reflecting the area’s layered history.

Visitors reach the acropolis via a steep, car-free climb from the village of Lindos below. The path is not wheelchair accessible, so comfortable footwear is essential. The site is open daily year-round, with summer hours typically running from 08:00 to 20:00, while winter hours are shorter. Timed entry tickets are required and should be booked in advance, especially during the high season, to ensure entry.
