Porto Katsiki Beach

Porto Katsiki Beach

4.6/10
#1 of 8 in Lefkada

Porto Katsiki Beach in Lefkada is a striking natural landmark on the island’s southwestern coast, renowned for its dramatic limestone cliffs and vibrant blue waters. Located approximately 40 kilometers from Lefkada town, this public beach requires no admission fee, though visitors should plan for parking costs. Private parking lots near the sea charge up to €20 per day, while free roadside parking is available only if you arrive before 11:00 AM.

Access to the beach involves descending a steep set of roughly 90 to 100 stone steps from the clifftop parking area. This descent makes the site unsuitable for wheelchairs or strollers, so families with small children should exercise caution. Once at the shore, visitors can relax on the fine, powdery sand or white pebbles. Basic facilities include canteens that offer food and drink, with some services delivering items directly to the beach.

The beach is open seasonally, typically from May through September, with no fixed opening hours. For the best experience, visit in late May, early June, or September to avoid peak crowds while still enjoying warm sea temperatures. Early mornings and late afternoons provide the most peaceful atmosphere. Water taxis are also available from nearby ports like Vasiliki and Nidri during the season. Most visitors spend two to four hours enjoying the scenery, though many stay longer to soak in the unique Ionian landscape.
